In 1986, in a cold cellar somehwere in the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain, an innovative winemaker decided to take a chance and attempt a Bordeaux style blend, unaware that she was creating what woukd todya be known as her magnum opus. 

 

Her name was Norma Ratcliffe, and she gave us the Trilogy.

Norma wasn’t just a visionary when it came to crafting top tier wine; her excellent understanding and skill for marketing changed the way people saw Warwick at the time, turning the label into the internationally renowned brand it is today. 

 

The First Lady and Three Cape Ladies vintages you enjoy today are references to the enigma of Norma, her daughter and granddaughter, which just goes to show that there is a story in every bottle. 

 

And the Trilogy, Norma’s blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, is considered one of South Africa’s flagship brands and has even been served at state dinners. 

 

 

 

The powerful, award-winning new-world expression of Stellenbosch terroir has been in production for thirty-six years without skipping a vintage. 

 

Initial aromas celebrate the combination sweet spices and a lovely savoury element. The palate is rich and concentrated with intensity and structures, and tannins are firm and well structured, allowing the wine to age gracefully over five to ten years.
