The Warwick Trilogy was first produced in 1986 as the flagship Estate wine. There has been a Trilogy every vintage ever since. It was launched as a three-varietal Bordeaux-style blend, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, until the 2015 vintage when Cabernet Franc led the blend for the first time.
Warwick was among the first Estates to bottle Cabernet Franc as a single varietal in 1988. It has since achieved consistent acclaim and Cabernet Franc is now synonymous with Warwick. The unique terroir at Warwick is very favourable for the varietal, creating wines of elegance and finesse.
The DNA of the single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate goes back to the very first wine produced under the Warwick label, when it was released in 1984 – then named “La Femme Bleu”. An example of Quintessential Simonsberg Cabernet powerful and rich, with tremendous ageing possibilities.
The Three Cape Ladies as of 2015 is a three-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon led Bordeaux style blend. A further sanctification of the Stellenbosch terroir and its ability to deliver fantastic appealing wines. Even James Bond famously succumbed to the appeal of the Three Cape Ladies.
The White Lady was first released in 2011. In its short life it has since received tremendous acclaim, twice being voted the John Platter white wine of the year. This among a plethora of other accolades, it is one of the most successful wines produced on the estate. With the great reputation and history of fantastic red wines the White Lady is a showcase of all that is possible with the magnificent terroir at Warwick.
Named in tribute to the rich farming history of the estate. The Sauvignon blanc block on the estate was planted on the site where the first plantings of Professor Blacks’ hugely successful peach stood. The block is being replanted and until then the wine is an ultimate cool climate expression of A Bordeaux white. Sauvignon and Sémillon from selected sites in Darling and Elgin. One of the most exciting wines produced at Warwick, the maiden vintage 2017 was highly acclaimed and awarded.
