Professor Black

Named in tribute to the rich farming history of the estate. Professor Black from the University of Stellenbosch, trialled the first plantings of his hybrid peach on the estate. Legend has it that years later when the peaches were uprooted and the sauvignon blanc block was planted, the wine it produced had a strong peach aromatic. In recognition It was named the Professor Black Sauvignon Blanc.  Many years have since passed but we are still proud to produce a Simonsberg Sauvignon Blanc and true to its name it is bursting with fruity aromatics.
