The 2007 vintage was a very challenging, but in the end it was well worth it.

The vintage was very cool overall. We had very little rain and the combination turned out to be amazing. The Chardonnay was the first to be harvested showing intense fruit flavours and good fullness in the vineyard. It turned out to be wonderful. The Sauvignon blanc was very intensely perfumed so Professor Black will be up to his usual tricks.

Due to the cool weather the reds where very slow to ripen. The grapes ended up with very good flavours and nice colour so we can be very grateful.

There was a big trade off with volume as we had a very small crop, but it was definitely worth it.

Jozua Joubert joined the Warwick winemaking team in 2007 after working at some of the most esteemed wineries around the world including Bonny Doon in California, Tatachilla in Australia, some renowned properties in France and as manager of `fine wines` at Ashton cellars in South Africa.

He brings an illustrious combination of verve, experience and youthful exuberance - a potent combination which will synergise with the Warwick energy. winemaker@warwickwine.com
